Salam, peace be with you. Alhamdulillah! I am incredibly grateful to live near Zara Super Market. Having access to fresh halal meat, an amazing selection of spices, and a wide variety of traditional herbs has been a blessing for my family. Every visit inspires me to learn more about cooking with natural ingredients and the rich traditions behind herbal remedies and spices. One of the reasons I appreciate halal meat is that its principles emphasize compassion, cleanliness, and respect for animals. Halal standards require that animals are healthy at the time of slaughter and that the slaughter process minimizes unnecessary suffering while allowing thorough blood drainage. Research has highlighted that authentic halal practices place a strong emphasis on animal welfare, ethical treatment throughout the production chain, hygiene, and food safety. For me, this gives me confidence in the quality of the food I bring home. I also find the meat to be fresh, flavorful, and of consistently high quality. This is a great Halal Meat and Grocery store here in Berkeley. Great selection of South Asian Indian/Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi food items. Small and family owned. Looks new and clean and I can generally find whatever I need here.
